I recently had the great honour of being Honorary Pitmaster at the 21st annual Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational Barbecue.

A great event which I competed in 2006 with great success (I think it was 8th overall with 4th place in Ribs and 7th Place in Pork Shoulder) and some very kind help from my friend Bob Fite and family from Alabama Jiggy Piggy and James Britt of JedMaster BBQ's (The Best!!!!!).

Great people - amazing foods, flavors and stories. There are always serious barbecuers there! Check out the pictures where I was crowned with bones, toasted the competitors and then had to place the cerimonial wire pig into the fireplace with my new friend, Jeff Arnett, Jack Daniel's 7th Master Distiller. Its known as the burning of grievances ceremony the night before.

When I got home, was suprised with a package that contained a Single Barrel Jack Bottle signed from the Master Distiller himself which made its home on my Mantle.
